Visual Art and Photography — Grades K – 8 and High School
Entries may be on paper, canvas, board, wood or other similar flat surfaces Size up to 36” x 36” and 3” in thickness.
Photographs and Art may be collaged and manipulated conventionally or digitally. We do strongly suggest mounting and matting the artwork for protection, but no glass please! Please try to submit artwork that is robust, as fragile entries could be damaged.
Literature — Grades K – 8 Only
Work may be fiction or non-fiction, poetry, prose or drama, or a book of poems or short stories. Illustrating written work though not required, is greatly encouraged.
Handwritten entries are valued just as much as typed ones.
Students who are very young or who need help may have somebody write or type for them. As entries may become damaged/soiled from handling by enthusiastic readers, it would be best to retain a personal copy, or submit the manuscript in clear plastic protective sleeves.
Students may submit more than one entry in each category, so long as each submission has a securely attached entry form.
